Jake Lacey heads back to FNQ with Star 106.3 and Power 100

Jake Lacey is on his way back to Far North Queensland to join the team at Star 106.3 and Power 100 as Promotions Manager.

After kicking off his radio promotions career in New Zealand, Jake moved to Australia. Now, he’s bringing his creative energy to Townsville.

Jake first hit the FNQ scene at Star 102.7 where he accidentally let slip Johnny’s then yet-to-be-announced baby news to the listeners of Cairns.

From there, his work at Wave FM Wollongong saw him pull off everything from on-air weddings to nonstop mini-golf marathons, throwing together a country party and riding alongside Lyndal & Crammy in a tuk-tuk through Wollongong for Ride to Work Day.

Now he’ll work alongside Archie and Donny, who switched from Power 100 to Star 106.3 Breakfast at the start of March this year.

Jake says he’s ready to drive the station’s next big chapter in promotions.

Jake says “I’m stoked to be back in Far North Queensland. 2025 is shaping up to be huge, and I’ve got some big ideas already in motion. Eyes are on the 2026 ACRAs and we’re aiming high.”
