Triple M Sydney’s music director Jacqui Kassulke resigns

Former Editor & Content Director

Triple M’s music director, Jacqui Kassulke, is set to finish up in June.

Kassulke has a long history with both Triple M and parent company Southern Cross Austereo (SCA), having been the music director and an announcer at the Sunshine Coast’s Sea FM back in 2000.

Since then, she’s been an announcer at Triple M as well as music director for Newcastle’s KOFM.

Outside of SCA, she spent over six years with DMG Radio (now NOVA Entertainment), helping to launch Nova 919 in Adelaide as music director, and then becoming music director for Vega (now smoothfm).

She’s been in her most recent role as music director for Triple M in Sydney for over five years.

In a note to staff today, seen by Radio Today, SCA’s head of music, Mickey Maher, noted how Kassulke had achieved, and exceeded, her goals with the station.

“In 1999 as an AFTRS student (with fellow student and current colleague Andrew Very), Jacqui was asked what her radio ambitions were, she had two:

“1. Be a Workday announcer on Triple M Sydney

“2. Be the music director of Triple M Sydney

“To say Jac has achieved those goals would be well understated.”

Maher said Kassulke is an outstanding broadcaster and at the top of her game as a music director.

“Just about every great Triple M music event not only in Sydney but nationally has been at the experienced hands of Jacqui.”

He thanked Kassulke for her work ethic, knowledge, passion and unwavering support.

Kassulke’s next move is not yet clear. Her last day with the network is June 4.

SCA said recruitment will begin shortly for Kassulke’s replacement.
