It’s back: Youth Jam Radio to be re-launched

Reporter

Two months after being switched off, Perth’s Youth Jam Radio has announced it’s returning to the airwaves.

On May 19, 2025 – at 6am – the station will be officially re-launched.

In February this year – amid financial pressures – the difficult decision was made to cease broadcasting on Youth Jam’s 24/7 radio station and instead scale up its podcasting and digital media divisions.

CEO and Content Director Isaac Mulcrone says “The move was a tough one, with our whole network reeling from the announcement.

“Over the last couple of months we’ve heard from listeners, stakeholders, volunteers and members of the public, who all wished Youth Jam had stayed on the air.”

Now, he says, Youth Jam Radio is in a position to make its return.

The radio station will continue to be ‘Made by youth, for youth,’ but Mulcrone says if you’re a keen podcast listener, that’s not going away.

“All of our radio shows will be turned into high-quality podcasts so you’ll never have to miss a beat.”

“We’re really excited to do this journey with you.”
