INXS voted #1 in Triple M’s Election 300 Countdown

Triple M has delivered an election result the nation might actually be able to agree on, with with the INXS classic Never Tear Us Apart voted #1 in the Election 300 Countdown.

Ironically, the anthem about unity topped the list as the Greatest Song Of All Time.

The countdown was played across the Triple M network over the past week with listeners nominating their favourite tracks at the official ‘polling booth,’ the LiSTNR app.

Screaming Jets frontman Dave Gleeson and ‘Dangerous’ Dave Williams spoke to Aussie rock royalty Kirk Pengilly and Jon Farriss from INXS to discuss the win, with Pengilly exclaiming “Get out of the house! Ya kidding! I’m flabbergasted. It’s really unbelievable. I mean, we recorded that song. Oh, gee, must be 38 years ago, and that’s just incredible.”

There were 11 INXS songs in this year’s Election 300 Countdown.
