“I’m so excited to see what this journey brings.” Elle Beattie launches new podcast business

Elle Beattie once broadcast live from a cruise ship for five days in four-metre swells. And even that wasn’t as terrifying as deciding to take a leap of faith and start her own business.

Elle recently left her role as Manager Producer at NOVA Entertainment to launch Best Mates Media, building podcasts for brands, business and companies.

As Elle tells Radio Today, she had noticed more brands were asking for podcast support that went deeper than just editing.

“They wanted strategy, storytelling, guest booking, host training – the whole engine.”

“Best Mates Media was my answer to that gap: a place where businesses can get high-calibre, end-to-end support without becoming a burden on their existing internal resources.”

“We use our industry experience to build a quality product, manage the moving parts, and keep our clients involved at the key moments so it still feels completely theirs.”

Elle brings a wealth of radio and podcast experience to the table.

After starting out in the promotions department at ARN, she worked her way up the ranks to become a producer, working on shows including Jonesy & Amanda and Jono & Dano, later joining SCA as Executive Producer of Triple M’s Merrick & The Highway Patrol.

For three years, she was Executive Producer for Nova’s top rating national Drive show Kate, Tim and Marty.

Elle also won Thought Leader of the Year at the 2023 Radio Today Podcast Awards.

Once the decision was made to launch Best Mates Media and the website was built, the process began to feel more exhilarating than scary.

“I am actually so excited to see what this journey brings and the pods we can create,” says Elle, who believes there is enormous potential in the podcast space.

“I want to play a role in lifting the standard of branded podcasts in Australia.”

Elle says she’s excited to keep pushing the industry forward and challenging people to think outside of the classic branded podcast model.

“I’d love Best Mates Media to be known as the go-to team for podcasts that truly wrap content around a client’s goals.”
