iHeartPodcast Network partners with Diamantina Media

Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) iHeartPodcast Network Australia will now house more titles as it partners with Diamantina Media’s DM Podcasts.

This means DM Podcasts titles including The Betoota Advocate Podcast, Chat 10 Looks 3 and So Dramatic! will now be available on the iHeart platform.

ARN said the partnership demonstrates its ongoing support of Australian audio content and creators, and reinforces its stronghold as the country’s leading podcast publisher.

Director of podcasts and strategy at DM, Antony Stockdale, said the company is thrilled to be working with the iHeartPodcast Network to monetise and grow its audience.

“This relationship allows DM to focus on what we do best – creating entertaining content,” he said. “It is a team we know and trust,” he added.

In addition, the two podcast players are partnering with the Australian Podcast Awards to make a podcast about podcasts.

Behind the Podcast is a weekly exploration into how some of the country’s most interesting and successful podcasts are built. It will feature podcast creators including those behind The Squiz, Shameless, 7am and Equity Mates, who will discuss how they started out, their ups and downs, key learnings, and the processes behind how they make their shows.

It will be hosted by Stockdale alongside Sydney-based digital producer and avid podcast enthusiast, Jules Batstone.

Stockdale said Behind the Podcast was a logical extension of the Australian Podcast Awards, which celebrate the diversity and quality of the Australian podcast industry and the people behind it.

Behind the Podcast is for anyone with a podcast, or dreams of starting one,” he added.

ARN’s head of commercial audio and podcasts, Corey Layton, noted the opportunities contained within both partnerships.

“ARN has always been a supporter of great Aussie content and creators, and we are excited to sponsor the 2020 Australian Podcast Awards to drive awareness and showcase the plethora of brilliant Australian podcasts.

“We are also delighted to partner with Diamantina Media. The scale and breadth of their content slate is exceptional, aligning with our ambition to support the best Australian podcast creators, paired with opportunities for brands. Behind the Podcasts takes that support a step further, showcasing and educating the next generation of storytellers and audio creators,” he said.

The finalists for the Australian Podcast Awards were revealed earlier this week.
