Hughesy, Ed & Erin announce five million dollar giveaway
Reporter
2Day FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin have this morning announced they’re giving listeners the chance to win up to five million dollars on air.
Five people will get the chance to win $1million each.
Listeners won’t be subjected to any difficult challenges – all they need to win is a first name which matches the description revealed on air each hour.
For example, Hughesy, Ed and Erin might say “Call in if your name has the letter E in it.”
Once the call’s gone out, listeners will have five minutes to get through for their chance to be on the list.

Damn, quite a few hoops to jump through here for a 1% chance of winning $1-million.
They aren’t giving away 5 million, they are giving you a chance after you have a chance to win the 5 million.
Seen these things a million times. Radio stations pay like 30-50K to an insurance company, then they put 100 bags in front of you, if you get the right bag you get the million.
So really the odds in winning are not far off ozlotto. (after adding up how many people they will enter into the chance to win).
Super misleading.
At what point do we start talking about false advertising in promotions?
I’d call a 1-in-100 chance of winning $1million (not $5million,) once you get on standby a difficult challenge.
I for one miss the Mystery Mix
What a tired, cliché approach to promoting content, reminiscent of the old-school content directors. It seems like radio still underestimates the intelligence of its listeners.
Really? In 2024?
That’s not how you lift ratings.
