Hit106.9 Newcastle welcomes a new Breakfast host, with Nick ‘Ducko’ Allen-Ducat announced to join the show this year.

Ducko rose to prominence as part of Nick & Tom’s Super Secret Sunday Show on Nova 106.9 Brisbane, with accompanying podcast.

He’ll now join Jess Farchione and Nick Gill on Hit106.9 Breakfast, replacing the recently departed Simon Baggs who headed further north to Hot Tomato.

Ducko was most recently the host of 9GO! kids TV show Smashdown.

He says he’s super keen to join the family at Hit Newie.

“I’m so excited to be joining the Hit Newcastle family for 2020, Nick Gill and Jess Farchione are loads of fun and I can’t wait to see what we get up to together!

“Newcastle are in for one hell of a ride!”

The Nick, Jess & Ducko show starts on Monday, January 20.

“Newy is an incredible city, I am pinching myself that I get to call it home and work on a breakfast show with such amazing people every day, even if there are two Nicks on the team,” said Ducko.

“We did an extensive search for the perfect person to join Nick and Jess on Hit breakfast and couldn’t go past Ducko,” added SCA group CD for NSW & ACT, Jase Allen.

“There was instant chemistry the moment the three of them were in the studio together and a sense of excitement that made it impossible to go with anyone else.

“Ducko brings a wealth of radio experience and we look forward to him becoming the newest Novocastrian.”

Good luck “Ducko”, you are a very memorable character with your own sense of identity. This is the kind of shake up radio needs. You should cut through well in a town like Newcastle, I can already hear your target speaking about you in their workplaces, transport & social groups. The scratching and rustlings of locals including you in their survey diaries will be deafening. Best wishes, SCA you have done it again. Clive
