Hadley & Handlin donate 30k

Staff Writer

One of radio's great strengths is its power to connect with the community and to raise awareness, or funds, for great causes.

There have been many terrific examples over recent weeks from Southern Cross Austereo's regional group, to 2CC and 2CA in Canberra, to 3AW and Joy FM in Melbourne.

The latest is Ray Hadley from 2GB who lends his name and airtime to the 'Ray Hadley Country Music Collection' CD's, of which 3 have been released through Sony Music.

All money raised goes to fund research into Motor Neurone Disease in Australia. So far, $80,000 has been raised for the cause, with $30,000 being donated this week. Kudos.
