Give Me 5 is back at Mix 106.3

Give Me 5 is back at Canberra’s Mix 106.3 with the aim of raising money to help children in need.

In partnership with Her Canberra and the Canberra Hospital Foundation, Mix has kicked off the annual charity campagin that raises money for children undergoing treatment in Caberra Hospital.

Since 2014, Give Me 5 has raised over $1,000,000, so hopes are high that the campagin will lead to another major contribution to purchase vital equipment.

Money raised will go towards the purchase of important tools for outpatient clinics, including Smielyscopes to help kids who may be apprihensive about treatments and baby monitors for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Executive Director of Women, Youth and Children at Canberra Health Services, Susan Freiberg says the initiative helps with the extras that make a big differnce.

“The Canberra Hospital Foundation provides those nice to have extras that can have such a positive impact for children in hospital, including comfort items like toys or activities, specialised equipment, referbishments to help make away-from-bed spaces less clinical and therapeutic programs,” said Freiberg.

“Donations go far beyond directly supporting sick children in hosptial.”

“The benefits are felt by their family, the healthcare team and the community.”

The community can get behind Give Me 5 by supporting events this month which inlcude Mix 106.3’s Give Me 5 Grand Prix on July 1 along with a number of other events and donation collection buckets around the region.

Donations can be made directly through the Canberra Hospital Foundation website.
