Fresh 92.7 release new app thanks to fundraising efforts

Staff Writer

After putting the call out for donations back in July, community station Fresh 92.7 has launched a new app thanks to the help of listeners and local business alike.

The “Level Up” campaign aims to raise a total of $100,000 for the station, and the latest milestone marks almost one-third of that target being achieved.

The app itself, now available on the App Store and Google Play, allows listeners to hear the station from anywhere in the world at any time, as well as access the most recently played tracks and the ability to directly message the DJs in the studio.

According to the station, the new app is just the first in a long line of necessary upgrades, including the Master Control Room and driving the electricity bill of the station down in the years to come.

There are three key areas of the fundraising efforts – IT restructure, training and production courses – with producers, journalists, sound engineers, designers and more set to benefit from donors’ efforts.
