Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev & Nick launch Guinness World Record attempt
Fifi, Fev and Nick from Melbourne’s 101.9 The Fox Breakfast show have officially launched their own Guinness World Record attempt, and it’s a doozy.
They’re aiming to set a new mark for the longest marathon by a radio music show DJ team.
Starting at 6 this morning, Fifi Box, Brendan Fevola and Nick Cody plus their anchor Josiah Shala effectively took over the radio station, as they attempt to host for a total of 27 hours NON-STOP.
That means they’ll be hosting Breakfast, Mornings, Afternoons, Drive, Evenings, Late Nights, Dawns and Breakfast again up until 9am tomorrow, June 2.
Strict rules surrounding everything from on-air talking to music and ads apply to this marathon live broadcast.
There’s also an official Guinness World Record adjudicator on site.
Special guests who’ll be joining them throughout the broadcast will include PM Anthony Albanese, Carrie & Tommy, Tones and I, Hamish & Andy, Eddie McGuire, Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes, Peter Helliar, Ant Middleton, Larry Emdur, Marty Sheargold, Billy Brownless and Karl Stefanovic.
I feel like this may have been done only a couple years ago, in the exact same market….
Some kind of 56-hour marathon, perhaps…?
Could be wrong I guess…
All the best Fox. I can tell you first hand it is so hard. I did a solo 36-hour straight OB from Westfield Marion when I was at Mix 102.3 in 2006. It’s the 3 am mark that it really starts to hurt, but by 12pm the following day you feel drunk and confused. All the best with it!
This has been done before b105 used to do it from 6am till 9am the following day. This is nothing new.
And yet the REAL record is >100 hours! 27’s NOTHING in comparison! But hey, we ARE talking SCA!!
Hi guys how’s it going?? I’ve fecken tried to log in with my phone but can’t ♀️♀️♀️ I’m not very computer savvy I’m 62 so I haven’t grown up with all this technology ❤️ I hope you all make it through the night ❤️❤️
Innovative not
” Special ” guests including
Carrie & Tommy – yawn on every day
Hamish and Andy – promoting tv shows
Eddie – old news, desperate
Hughesy – finished in Sydney, needs melb gig
Larry – daytime tv
Marty Sheargold – most listeners he’s had in long time
Karl – say no more wink wink
The poor old Fox recycling old promotions but Gold will still trounce them in ratings.
Im mostly surprised that they would send out a press release about this.
Sounds like something Ned and Josh would do.
they should aim for a record. winning the ratings for once.
