Dave Carter: How the Radio Today Podcast Awards can open doors

Why should you enter the 2023 Radio Today Podcast Awards?

The team at Media Heads can give you a whole host of reasons as to why it’s well worth the effort.

Last year, the Sydney-based content production company won Branded Podcast of the Year.

As Media Heads General Manager and Executive Producer Dave Carter tells Radio Today, entering the competition can open doors.

“In Australia, we have a lot of very talented people working in the audio space including producers, writers, audio engineers, and sound designers, who are all producing a wide range of innovative, creative and ultimately fascinating content.”

“The Radio Today Podcast Awards provide a great opportunity to showcase these people and their work to the broader media industry and to be recognised for their innovation,” says Dave.

In submitting its entry last year, Media Heads had several goals.

“The main aim was to highlight the important stories we were trying to tell in our podcast (Closing The Net) and to make it part of the conversation around child protection,” says Dave.

“We also wanted more people to be aware of the work Media Heads was involved in, to celebrate the team involved and what we’re capable of producing.”

Dave says the company’s success in last year’s awards had a positive flow-on effect.

“Winning a Radio Today Podcast Award enabled us to enhance our podcast production credentials to our client base and open the doors for new podcast opportunities.”

“It’s also been useful in attracting new talent who want to work with us to develop their own podcast ideas.”

Entries are now open for the 2023 Radio Today Podcast Awards. Head here to get started.
