NOVA’s music marketing director Claire Marshall joins Sony Music

Staff Writer

Long-term NOVA Entertainment executive Claire Marshall has joined Sony Music as senior director of catalogue streaming & strategic partnerships.

Marshall had been with NOVA since 2003, climbing the ranks to become music marketing director by 2014. She was, however, a victim of the group’s recent large-scale redundancy round.

At NOVA, she built the business’ live-music brands including Nova’s Red Room and smooth’s Feel Good Night.

Prior to her time with NOVA Entertainment, Marshall was with Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) in Perth.

Her new Sydney-based role with Sony Music will include responsibility for growing digital market share for Sony’s priority catalogue artists through digital marketing initiatives and DSP artist activations. She will work in partnership with the digital account management team and report to Sophie McArthur, VP for partner development & streaming strategy across ANZ.

She will also work closely with Dan Nitschke, VP for business development & media partnerships in ANZ, on fostering and expanding relationships with Sony Music’s key brand, entertainment and commercial partners.
