Footy guy, reality TV girl – bang new Breakfast Team.

Former Cowboys footy player Ben Hannant is teaming up with former Bachelor contestant, Heather Maltman, and Dan Anstey as SEA FM Gold Coast’s new Breakfast team for 2017.

The trio take over from Paul Gale and Charli Robinson, whose last show went to air this morning.

Hannant only this week confirmed his exit from the NRL after his stellar career was cut short – 245 first grade games, 12 Origins for Queensland and six Tests for Australia. He will be moving to the GC with his family for the new On-Air role.

Heather Maltman meantime, is best known for her appearance on the Network Ten reality show ‘The Bachelor’ in 2015. This will be her first fulltime role with SCA after doing Summer Breakfast for the network across Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. with Osher Gunsberg. Heather also co-hosted ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Now!’ with Joel Creasey.

Dan Anstey will be the new anchor for the show on the Gold Coast. Dan was the anchor for  two years with Fifi & Dave in Melbourne but made way for the return of Byron Cooke this year.

No official word yet from SCA when the new team will start. The Gold Coast will be an interesting market to watch again into 2017. Both SCA with Gold FM and Hot Tomato with new Drive offerings, and on breakfast a new team for SEA.
