Cathy O’Connor and Rohan Lund appointed to SCA Board
Cathy O’Connor is one of two new forthcoming additions to the Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) Board.
Both O’Connor and Rohan Lund will be appointed as Independent Non-Executive Directors, with O’Connor’s role effective from March 27 this year and Lund to take up his role on March 1st.
In her thirty-plus years as a media executive, O’Connor has led teams radio, audio, digital media and outdoor advertising, including DMG, Nova and – most recently – as Managing Director of oOh!media.
Lund is a former senior executive at Optus, Seven West, Yahoo!7 and Foxtel and most recently spent a decade as Group CEO of the NRMA.
SCA Executive Chairman Heith Mackay-Cruise said “The Board has been focused on adding the attributes and perspectives that will be needed to optimise our performance and navigate a rapidly changing marketplace. We are confident that Rohan and Cathy will make that contribution and that their insights, deep market knowledge and business acumen will be highly beneficial to the Board and our shareholders.”
Retiring from her oOh!Media role last year, in August, O’Connor revealed to Serena Ahern in Radioinfo’s Wisdom of Women in Media series that she was looking to her next career challenge.
Of her SCA appointment, O’Connor said “I have watched the recent combination of SCA’s and Seven West’s market-leading brands with great interest and I am looking forward to working closely with the Board over the next phase of the company’s journey.”
