Burma’s all-girl group ready to conquer the world

Staff Writer

18 months after Burma emerged from political isolation, there has been a lot of artistic expression coming out of the country.

Before, performers had to adhere to strict rules about costumes and lyrics but now bands like Me N Ma Girls are making a name for themselves in their homeland as well as overseas.

Me N Ma Girls are Burma's first original all-girl group, named after their home country ‘Myanmar’. They are Ah Moon, Htike Htike (Tie Tie), Kimi and Cha Cha.

In an effort to get their work heard, Me N Ma Girls have had news stories on CNN, NBC, BBC, New York Times, SBS’s Dateline and ABC’s Lateline. They now want to get Australian radio excited about their music by promoting themselves in industry publications like Radio Today.
