Adam Ferrier and Brent Smart explore the many tensions faced within today’s creative industry in the latest episode of the Black T-Shirts podcast, which is now in its fourth season.

Ferrier is the founder of award-winning creative company Thinkerbell. Smart is CMO at Telstra.

This week they’re joined by Al Merry, Chief Creative Officer and founder of the Flower Shop, one of the hottest new independent ad agencies from New York City.

Merry discusses what it takes to move from being a creative to founding and running a creative business at the blistering pace set by the current advertising landscape.

The interview looks at the focus on work versus the commercial and practical realities of running a business.
