Birthday surprise: Kyle comes face to face with media nemesis Steve Price
When Kyle & Jackie O Show producer ‘Intern Pete’ Deppeler teased a big surprise for Kyle Sandilands to mark his 54th birthday, some people guessed a puppy. Others thought maybe he was getting a new car.
Little did Kyle know, he’d be coming face-to-face with his biggest nemesis – Steve Price.
After a three-year long feud, the pair finally met in person this morning during The Kyle & Jackie O Show, where the Melbourne media identity took Kyle and Jackie O to task over their sexually explicit content.
As for what started their feud, Kyle said he was annoyed over comments made about the Kyle and Jackie O Show being syndicated into Melbourne.
Steve responded with: “He’s an extraordinary talent and he lets all this sex stuff, which has obviously worked for you two …”
Kyle: “Everyone has sex!”
Steve: “No, it’s worked for you two, so you cling on to it. You’re far too smart a man, and Jackie’s a far much smarter woman than to have to do all that stuff. You work without that.”
Kyle: “But why hold ourselves back because of a couple of oldies that are pearl clutching?”
Steve: “That’s not a couple of oldies. I mean, if you want to work in Melbourne, for the three people listening to us down there now …”
Kyle: “By the way, you can throw the insults out, but we’re 180,000 people away from winning. So, it’s quite closer than normal.”
Steve: “It does worry you.”
Kyle: “It doesn’t worry me.”
Steve: “Don’t pretend it doesn’t.”
Kyle: “No, I don’t pretend. We’re not changing the whole show to suck Melbourne’s d***.”
Steve also told Kyle he’s getting him a special birthday present – a North Melbourne AFL membership “Because they always come last in Melbourne. I thought you could jump on board with them.”
Kyle said: “Don’t get it. Because I’m not into football, so I don’t understand. And we’re not last either. Triple J is last, ABC is last. All these shitters, they’re all last.”
The Kyle & Jackie O Show can be heard from 6am to 10am on KIIS 1065 in Sydney and KIIS 101.1 in Melbourne, or listen on the free iHeart App.
The woman that wrote this seems to be a fan girl of the show.
Hardly a day goes by without her writing about them.
This article is OK, at least she’s not rehashing a press release.
It’s just an article about something that happened on radio. This site is about what’s been happening on Australian radio so I’m struggling to find how Sarah (she has a name by the way) is giving fan girl vibes.
