Bernie Vince comes on board as Triple M Footy returns

Former Assistant Editor

Triple M’s AFL coverage returns for its 23rd year tonight to kick off the 2019 season, covering Richmond vs Carlton from the MCG.

Joining an already stacked calling team is Bernie Vince, one of few players to have notched up 100 games or more with two clubs.

He joins Triple M Footy for the season, with his first commentary gig this Saturday for Adelaide vs Hawthorn.

Bernie also joins Triple M Adelaide’s Dead Set Legends on Saturday mornings with Andrew Jarman and Greg Blewett.

“Triple M is where I first started my radio career, if you call it a career, back in Adelaide in the early days,” Bernie said.

“I always had a lot of fun with Roo and Ditts and then when I came to Melbourne, I spent a bit of time with JB and Billy as well.

“It’s a very funny and entertaining team, so if I can play some small roll in entertaining people then I’ll be happy.

“I’m probably looking forward to working with Billy the most! But I also owe a lot to JB, he gave me a start on both Triple M and Channel 9. He backed me in and now here I am, I can’t wait!”

“Triple M Footy has always been the call the players listen to,” added Triple M AFL CD Ewan Giles.

“We love bringing in new talent and developing the next generation of great footy callers. Recently retired players like Bernie bring an insight to the modern game that few can match.”

Coverage is available via the Triple M Footy app, online or on Triple M.
