B105’s Stav, Abby & Matt release their first children’s book
Stav, Abby & Matt from B105’s Breakfast show have released their first children’s book – Bumble the Bum Stinger – as part of an exclusive partnership with Booktopia.
It’s a playful tale which introduces young readers to a cheeky little bee whose wild antics and unexpected friendships lead to a surprising lesson he’ll never forget.
The story follows Bumble, a mischievous bee who can’t stop stinging others, chasing away every potential friend he meets.
With help from Stav the Sloth, Abby the Alpaca and Matt the Magpie, Bumble finds a creative solution: covering his stinger to make friends at last.
At its heart, Bumble the Bum Stinger is a fun, uniquely Australian tale about kindness, friendship, and learning from our mistakes.
The idea sparked during an on-air conversation about Book Week and how it has inspired children across the country. Booktopia quickly came on board, and the story came to life with input from B105 listeners, who helped shape everything from the animal characters to the book’s central message.
With Book Week 2025 kicking off on August 16, Stav, Abby & Matt are encouraging kids to dress up as their favourite characters from the book and join in celebrating a homegrown story created with Brisbane in mind.

On writing their first book, Stav, Abby & Matt said: “We are so grateful to our wonderful listeners that have helped us bring Bumble to life, providing us with the inspiration for the story and its characters.”
“A massive thank you to the team at Booktopia who have been wonderful to partner with. We can’t wait to see kids across the country dress up as their favourite characters and enjoy Bumble’s journey as much as we do. To every teacher who marked us down for talking too much and doubted our English skills. We’re officially authors now!”
Adam Freedman, Head of Brand and Communications at Booktopia, said “We’re thrilled to help bring Stav, Abby and Matt’s wonderful book to the hands of readers and families nationwide. We’re impressed by how seamlessly the team adapted to their role as writers – their on-air hosting skills set them up perfectly to craft a story in the written form! We can’t wait to deliver Bumble to homes, schools and pre-schools around the country.”
Bumble the Bum Stinger is available for pre-order via Booktopia here from today (Monday August 11) and ships to customers from Wednesday October 15. All of Stav, Abby & Matt’s royalties will go straight to Make-A-Wish Australia, helping grant life-changing wishes to seriously ill children.
Nice one! Will there be an audiobook?
