NZME’s Dannii Gardiner wins Audata Promo Star 2019

Former Assistant Editor

Audata has announced the winner of the 2019 Promo Star competition as Danii Gardiner from NZME for her work on a “floating music festival” – ZM Float.

The major prize is the opportunity for Gardiner to join the team from Australian media software company Audata at Radiodays Europe 2020. The next event will be held in Lisbon, Portugal next March.

The inaugural Promotion Star competition was set up by Audata in order to showcase the work of radio promotions professionals across Australia and New Zealand.

“We were overwhelmed with the quality of the entries and we want to thank everyone who participated,” said Audata CEO Keegan Bakker.

“Obviously a huge congratulations to Dannii and the ZM team on the win – it looked like an incredible event and we’re thrilled that Audata played some part in helping them bring it to life.”

Gardiner said winning the Promo Star is one of her proudest achievements.

“Float was my baby. I had various tasks from dealing with local councils, being the key contact for sponsor activity, organising video shoots, sorting artist riders, tracking budgets, looking over crucial health and safety plans and traffic management, site checks, coordinating many stakeholders to get the promotions on-air, managing staff on the day and so on,” she said in her entry.

“This is one of my proudest achievements in my career and I know it is an award-winning radio promotion worthy of being crowned the Audata Promo Star winner.”
