The Edge 96.ONE, the Australian Radio Network’s dedicated urban station, has searched for a new radio star via Instagram.

Entrants in the Search for a Star comp uploaded their audition videos on the social medium and this morning, Mike E and Emma revealed the top 10 finalists.

Listeners can hear what the Search for a Star hopefuls sound like over the next two weeks and vote for their favourite online.

The top three finalists will battle it out in what the station has said will be ‘a unique competition where they will need to complete challenges that on-air presenters face daily.’

The Edge Program Director Charlie Fox said the station was overwhelmed by the amount of entries it received.

“The sheer number of talented, passionate and creative fans that entered was just amazing. We are so excited to move on to this next round in the competition where listeners will get the chance to get to know these talented Top 10 and vote for their favourite. The final round is going to be a nail-biter, when the Top 3 get a real taste of what life as an on-air presenter is really like.”
