“Are you serious?”: Christian O’Connell shares mobile number on air

Gold104.3 Breakfast host Christian O’Connell pulled a rogue move this morning, surprising his entire staff and wife by giving out his personal mobile number live on air.

Christian explained the goal was to start the world’s biggest Whatsapp group, giving listeners and other the chance to send requests, messages and questions, and engage with other fans of the show.

“This is why I didn’t run it past anyone who works on the show,” said Christian. “I’m going to give out my new phone number. I’ve only had this phone for about ten weeks.”

“Your number?” queried Jack. “You’ll regret that. This seems like a fun radio stunt to do but you’ll regret it.”

Jack also suggested people may send unsolicited pictures, but Christian disagreed.

His wife then texted him saying “are you serious?”
