Most Added: ‘Perfect Duet’ puts commercial radio in a spin
Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé effortlessly steamrolled the competition at radio this week, leaving strong releases from Sam Smith and Louis Tomlinson in their dust. Let’s face it, ‘Perfect’ is the #1 radio song right now, and adding Beyoncé to the mix was only going to strengthen its allure.
Not only did the song get added to the most amount of stations this week, it accumulated additions where it mattered most. Commercial networks were absolutely enthralled with the KIIS and Nova networks playlisting the song, as well as Ash London LIVE and the Hit Regional Network.
Ultimately, Sam Smith and Louis Tomlinson were no match for the duet. Nonetheless, both ‘One Last Song’ and ‘Miss You’ courted strong additions from the ACE Radio Network and metro Hit stations. Meanwhile, Clean Bandit‘s team-up with Julia Michaels on ‘I Miss You’ recorded a decent week of additions but missed out on some attention from crucial networks.
A special shout-out goes to Aussie country act Busby Marou. Although not featuring in the Top 5, Marou’s new track ‘Got Your Back’ was added on high rotation across the entire Hit Regional Network and comes in just outside the Top 10 this week.
