Residents of the Marshall Islands will now be able to tune into ABC Radio Australia, with the national broadcaster’s expansion of services across the Pacific now complete.

It will be the first time the Marshall Islands has hosted broadcasts in more than five years.

A new FM transmitter has given the people of Majuro atoll access to the network, which now extends to 25 locations across the region.

Listeners in the capital Majuro can tune into ABC Radio Australia on 106.7FM.

The launch is the final chapter of the expansion which started with Ghizo Island in the Solomon Islands in 2023 (main photo).

It has since been extended to the Federated States of Micronesia (Pohnpei), Palau (Koror), Nauru, Kiribati (Tarawa), Tuvalu (Funafuti), Cook Islands (Rarotonga), Auki in the Solomon Islands and three additional Papua New Guinea locations, in East New Britain (Kokopo), Manus Island (Lorengau) and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (Buka).
