5AA Sales Pro rides for a cure

Staff Writer

Further to our story on former radio production guru Linc Kelly and his work with the Tour de Cure (read here), comes another radio professional riding to cure cancer.

5AA Adelaide Sales Representative Pat Carpenter is presently in training to ride from Brisbane to Mission Beach on this years Tour de Cure. His training consists of a 60km ride each day before dawn and has been inspired by his mother-in-laws cancer battle, and his experiences with other cancer survivors.

Speaking to News Community Media he said “I get a tear in my eye talking to some of them, and walk away feeling so inspired, you might have 200km in front of you, but it is nothing compared to what those battling cancer or who have lost someone from it go through.”

Carpenter rode 1500km from Sydney to Melbourne last year and raised over $19,000 “Apart from the birth of my kids and the day I got married, it is the best thing I’ve ever done.”
