3AW announce Hinch replacement

Shane Healy, GM of 3AW Shane Healy has confirmed Tom Elliott (pictured) will take over the station’s drive slot, and it may move to be a 3 hour show (3pm – 6pm).

Speaking on Neil Mitchell's program, Mr Healy said he believed Elliott would successfully take the drive show in a ‘slightly different direction’, but it would remain a current affairs program but possibly with broader content selection.

”We want to keep positioning 3AW to be the best station in Australia. Not just now, but in three, five and ten years’ time."

Mr Healy said the station took the opportunity to make the change while Derryn Hinch was still healthy and performing strongly in the timeslot.

“We're not going to sit on our hands and just remain where we are."
