31 to 43 time flies when Hughesy’s having fun

Not only are Hughesy & Kate preparing for their final show this Friday, but Hughesy has just celebrated his 43rd birthday.

Yesterday on the show, Hughesy's wife Holly and the kids wanted to surprise the Nova 100 breakfast host by turning up to the studio with one of her themed cakes that she makes every year.

For previous birthday's she has made him a Red Bull cake (his fave drink) and a fish & chips cake (his fave food). This year, to mark Hughesy's 12 years on-air at Nova, she planned to bake a Nova boy cake complete with message saying "31 to 43 time flies when Hughesy’s having fun" but ran out of time so just ended up with the words.

Then Holly got stuck in traffic so the show spoke to her and the kids while they were on their way into the studio.

Holly, Hughesy’s son Rafferty and daughters Sadie and Tess arrived just after the show finished so they celebrated in the office.
