2DayFM radio gig for comedy podcast duo
SCA has parachuted another podcast duo into the radio realm, with former CADA Breakfast host Yaz Haddad and Survivor contestant Feras Basal hosting Saturday afternoons on Sydney’s 2DayFM.
Known for their edgy, unfiltered banter, for the past year, the comedy duo has been serving up the Yaz & Feras The Podcast, a show which, we’re told, ‘doesn’t just cross the line, it sprints past it.’
Haddad and Basal confirmed their new radio gig via an Instagram post:
‘What do you get when 2 Arabs walk into a radio station?” Probably fired … who approved this?’

Their SCA appointment comes five months after Luisa Dal Din and Jack Archdale – aka Lu & Jarch – transitioned their podcast to a national radio show, spearheading Triple M’s early Drive line up.
With an already established on-air chemistry, loads of ready-made content and a huge social media presence, SCA saw the Lu & Jarch move as an obvious and natural progression, one which also leveraged their existing audience.
Similarly, Yaz & Feras bring with them a solid social media presence. Haddad – an AFTRS graduate – boasts more than 1.2 million TikTok followers, whilst Feras is the reality show favourite who gained widespread popularity after unanimously being crowned the first Sole Survivor of Arab descent.
Great call! This will definitely save 2Day FM!!!!!
@ Captain Sarcastic That station still on air?
Community radio is the wat to goooooooooo
Settle down everyone.. it’s hardly a primetime slot. This is a good thing for 2Day.. they should be focussing more on getting on-air talent that’s under 40 to match the ‘hits before they hit’ music style.
And if ‘Today AF’ fails completely.. they could always move it to DAB+ only and launch Heart on 104.1.
The once great Today FM now scraping the bottom bottom bottom of the barrel
While I’m obviously going to be diplomatic and wish Yaz and Feras the best with their new gig, the cynical side of me wonders how long they’ll last before getting the flick given the amount of on-air talent (not even just in the breakfast shift…) 2DayFM have churned through during recent years!
@PJC: Going by the ratings, unfortunately it appears the “Hits Before They Hit/Today AF” format may have already flopped for 2DayFM. After a peak of 4.5% in Survey #3 (which would’ve been around when the relaunch happened), they’ve steadily declined to 3.7% in the most recent survey which was the station’s worst performance since 2021.
Perhaps Heart 104.1 needs to happen sooner rather than later!
@SydneyCityTV , @PJC
I was thinking the same ….2Day rebrand to 104.1 Heart…but after listening this week Heart on Listnr it would be another Smooth/Gold…so they will be still 3rd Easy listening station. Same like now they are 3rd CHR station.
The new 104.1 Heart should sounds like Heart in UK.
