The guy got his break handing out icy cold cans of Coke some 26 years ago, Mickey Maher is the Head of Content for Regional Radio covering off 68 stations for Southern Cross Austereo.

Mickey has worked with SCA for 21 plus years and moved from being a metro CD to being the Head of Regional back in 2014. He’s got a big gig…  we ask Mickey for his tips on moving up the chain and if you can make the leap from a regional market straight into metro? “If you have got the hunger for it and the potential.”

But he is also realistic if you are not ready yet… “I’m not going to give false hope to people”. The best part of regional radio is  “The opportunity helps you build your resilience and the grass is not always greener on the other side.”
