ZM expands in NZ

Staff Writer

Two days after Fletch, Vaughan & Megan (right) took over on ZM breakfast, replacing Polly & Grant who are now on The Hits, TRN have announced that the station will soon be networked to Queenstown.

TRN’s Chief Content Officer, Dean Buchanan says Queenstown has been on TRN’s radar for a while.

"We have been inundated with requests to have a ZM frequency for Queenstown and there’s no better way to launch it than with Fletch, Vaughan and Megan on board as the new Breakfast hosts and then following up with our involvement in the Winter Festival."

Fletch, speaking on behalf of the breakfast trio, said: "We are so excited to be broadcasting into the gem of the Southern Alps, the pearl of the South Island, the diamond of Otago, the precious stone of the place where it is. We have had a long and often sordid love affair with Queenstown. I used to be the captain of the Earnslaw (until the wharf incident), Vaughan was once crowned Miss Wakatipu and Megan was his runner up, she’s still bitter about that. So with the hope of scamming a free trip to Queenstown and two weeks of ski field passes, we are proud to announce ZM is now in Queenstown, so let the lower end fun-sized embezzlement and personal gains begin…"

ZM will be heard on 88.8 from 23 May playing 3,000 songs ad free with Fletch, Vaughan & Megan Best Bits. The full network program will start from 30 May.
