Why a RadioTAB caller should buy a lottery ticket

Staff Writer

Graham Kemp, the General Manager of Radio TAB, received this email from South Australian race caller Tim Edwards on Monday morning.

Hi Graham,

If you wondered why my first race call from Penola may have sounded a lil “shaky” yesterday..

I just thought I would let you know the plane that was carrying myself and the race stewards to Penola on Sunday crash landed off the run way in Penola ..

Luckily everybody was ok.

It seems the suspension went on the left hand wing causing the 8 seater plane to slide left over the run way and into a paddock about a kilometre from touchdown (bump down).

The plane was damaged, the airfield closed, pilot grounded until investigation completed so after the races we had to bus it to Naracoorte, 40 min away, and wait for another plane to pick us up (included the original pilot) and bring us back here to Adelaide.

I just thought I would keep you informed. I should by a lottery ticket….

Tim Edwards

Tim still got to the track and called 8 races from Penola before heading home.
