Whooshkaa announces partnership with US podcast giant WNYC Studios
Whooshkaa will represent WNYC Studios in Australia and the Pacific, as part of a new deal between the two podcasting companies.
US-based podcasting giant WYNC is a leading producer in the industry, and is behind such podcasts as Radiolab, 2 Dope Queens, The New Yorker Radio Hour and Here’s The Thing with Alec Baldwin.
“This partnership will allow Australian listeners to hear targeted Australian content in the advertising space on WNYC Studios podcasts, and allow Australian advertisers to reach even more local podcast listeners,” said Whooshkaa founder and CEO Robert Loewenthal.
“We are proud to add WNYC Studios’ impressive stable of podcasts to Whooshkaa’s growing list, which includes shows from the Australian Radio Network, Wondery, Sky News, Fox Sport, the Sports Entertainment Network and more.”
WNYC Studios reachers more than 7 million unique listeners a month, and is a podcast curator and creator.
“Both WNYC Studios and Whooshkaa share an energetic and dynamic approach to podcast sales, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the podcasting industry,” said senior vice president of WYNC Hal Treacher.
“We are delighted to partner with them to better serve Australian advertisers and listeners alike.”
The partnership sees Whooshkaa’s portfolio continue to swell, following deals with ARN and US podcast maker Wondery in the past year.
How many more podcast deals do we need to hear about? They’re making bugger all money.
Actually, George, we’re fortunate to be in a new industry where the revenue is accelerating. I’m afraid you might be reading about a few more deals before long!
