“We’d love to go into radio, that’s always been our dream”; Podcast comedians Tim & Sammy on their growing profile

Former Assistant Editor

Podcasting comedy duo Tim and Sammy have had a break-out few months, releasing eight podcasts and racking up almost four thousand followers on Facebook since the start of 2018.

They regularly put out great social content as well, with recent videos on the Commonwealth Games, and The Bachelor racking up 2.5K and 14K views respectively.

Another recent clip made light of the scandal surrounding Intern Pete‘s appearance at Aussie cricket captain Steve Smith‘s press conference, titled ‘When you’re found guilty of listening to Kyle and Jackie O.’

With a swiftly growing fan base, Tim and Sammy hope to make it onto commercial radio one day.

“We love doing our semi-fortnightly podcast and we’d love to go into radio, that’s always been our dream!” Tim tells Radio Today.

“We want to make sure we go about it the right way though – hence we’re auditioning for The Bachelor and entering the AFL draft.”

When it comes to the radio they listen to, there’s a diverse range of inspiration.

“I’m on a radio listening hiatus, in protest, until they bring back Richard Mercer and Love Song Dedications,” says Sammy. “I don’t even listen to our own podcast!”

“We’re big fans of Hamish & Andy, Kate, Tim & Marty, Kennedy Molloy, Sam Pang and Ed Kavalee,” adds Tim.

“We listen to everything – from Triple M and Nova podcasts, Fox and KIIS in the car, Coles Radio at the supermarket – even at other supermarkets we’ll put on Coles radio.”

They’ll probably get their chance at the end of the year when 2day needs to shake up breakfast again.
