Victorian Premier announces tough new bail laws on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick

Reporter

This morning on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick, Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan joined the show to announce tough new bail laws for the state.

It follows a public push led by Brendan ‘Fev’ Fevola and Fifi Box, whose Change.org petition – demanding action on repeat youth offenders – amassed more than 115,000 signatures.

Acknowledging that the current bail system has failed community expectations, Premier Allan told Fifi, Fev & Nick that the government is “flipping the system” to put community safety first.

On February 27, Fifi and Fev launched a petition calling for tougher bail laws after hearing harrowing stories from Melbourne listeners.

It struck a chord, with callers flooding the show to share first-hand accounts of aggravated burglaries, stolen cars, and repeat offenders slipping through the cracks.

Thankyou, Fifi, Fev and Nick for making a difference to our community. It is crazy that our laws have allowed criminals to rule law. The exact reasons why we had laws put in place do the opposite. To protect our community. It is sad that we have become a country that is so accomodating that we have forgotten our core values. Protecting the people! Thankyou to our police force who dillegently protect our community every day, keep up the great work. Don’t give up. Toughen bail laws.
