Vale Pete Davies

The Top End and the industry lost one of the good ones overnight. Pete Davies of  Darwin’s MIX 1049’s 360 morning show, sadly lost his battle with cancer and passed away surrounded by his family.

Pete had been diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus and had been undergoing chemotherapy and surgery at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

Northern Territory Broadcasters released a statement saying:

“Pete was a true radio man and a passionate exponent of the top end, its people and the lifestyle. As a broadcaster, a mentor, a fisherman and a mate, he will never be forgotten.

“We will miss him dearly and at this time our thoughts are with his family.”
