Vale Pat O’Shea

Staff Writer

Renowned broadcaster and local sporting identity Pat O’Shea has passed away. Pat was not only the voice but the face of local sport on the Darling Downs in South East Queensland.

Pat was a multi-media veteran. Starting in the business in the 70’s, he worked at 4GR, 4AK and 4WK and 4KQ. He fronted WIN Television Local Sports for years and for the last 15 years he called the 4DDB FM breakfast show home working with David Silver. Pat also called the races at Clifford Park for more than 30 years.

He died after a short illness following surgery.
