Vale: ABC’s Russ Tyson

Former 612 ABC Brisbane breakfast announcer Russ Tyson has died aged 94. Russ presented the ABC breakfast session as well as the Hospital Half Hour – between 1948 and 1966 before continuing his successful radio career at 4KQ.

Russ is survived by his wife Joy and their children and grandchildren.

Spencer Howson, 612 ABC's current breakfast host announced the news during the week. Spencer has also paid tribute to Russ. You can view Spencer’s words here.
