Unearthed High back on triple j

Staff Writer

Now in its 6th year, triple j's Unearthed High is looking for Australia's best high school music act.

They want songwriters, bands, producers or MC's to submit an original track with acts needing to have at least half the band members still in high school.

The winning act will fly to triple j to have their song recorded in the studios and will then get airplay on triple j and Unearthed. They will also put on a concert at the winners school where the winner will play alongside young band San Cisco.

Last year’s winner Asta came in at #50 in the 2012 Hottest 100 with ‘My Heart is on Fire’ and supported Angus Stone and Birds of Tokyo.

More details here including some tips on songwriting, rehearsing, recording, playing gigs, promoting yourself and advice from The Doctor himself.
