triple j’s hottest 100 voting approaches

Get your shortlists in order because the democratic music event of the year is coming in hot.

Voting for triple j’s Hottest 100 is opening on Tuesday 14 December at 8am AEDT.

Vote for your favourite songs of the year and join millions of people from Australia and around the world on Saturday 22 January as we count down the Hottest 100 songs of 2021.

It’s a nationwide party, but it’s also a chance to reflect on the year that was and thank the artists that helped us get through it. So make sure you have your say and show some love for your favourite tunes of the year.

Triple j is switching it up this year with a couple of changes.

To whet your appetite for the big day, triple j is getting the party started early by bringing you the Hottest 200 on Friday 21 January.

Tune in to triple j from 10am local time for the ultimate pre-party and count down numbers 200-101.

Then make it a Hottest Weekend, after Saturday’s Hottest 100 triple j are going back in time on Sunday 23 January with Double J’s Hottest 100 of 2001.

Plus, you can do a little good while having fun by donating to their partner Lifeline.

In 2021, suicide remains the biggest killer of young Australians, accounting for over one-third of all deaths among 15-24-year-olds. This year, Lifeline has received more calls than they ever have, and currently can’t answer all the calls they receive.

It costs Lifeline $39 to answer a call, which is the same price as a Hottest 100 x Lifeline t-shirt. Donate or buy a tee and you might save a life.
