Tony Martin on Nova 100

Staff Writer

In the hottest breakfast radio market in Australia one of the shows to watch, Nova 100’s Chrissie Sam & Browny was graced with comedy royalty and radio legend, Tony Martin.

Tony was special guest on the new show to report on last night’s Academy Awards. Combining with fellow comedian Sam Pang and the Nova team, Tony provided some exceptional laughs. Sam Pang introduced Tony as: “Here on one of the few radio stations in the land this man is still allowed on”.

The funniest line of the morning was Tony’s:  “Leonardo’s Oscar speech about climate change was just to lure super models to the super yacht”. Then calling Russell Crowe: “The Portly Gentleman”, after a large menswear store in Darwin of the same name.

Tony last worked full time on radio on Get This with Ed Kavalee and the late Richard Marsland, on the Triple M network in 2007.

Tony Martin started in radio as part of the D Generation nearly 30 years ago on Triple M Melbourne. Tony has worked alongside Sam Pang before on Santo, Sam and Ed’s Cup Fever in 2010 and more recently on TV with Working Dogs Have You Been Paying Attention.

His appearance this morning put him head to head with his old On-Air partner Mick Molloy on Triple M’s Hot Breakfast lead by Eddie McGuire.

Survey #1 for 2016 is out next Tuesday.
