Three Questions: Mickey Maher

Staff Writer

It was a big  2015 in radio, as the New Year rolls in we are asking a bunch of you three quick questions.

Next up it’s Mickey Maher, the Regional Group Content Director for Southern Cross Austereo.

Biggest challenge facing your stations in the next 12-months?

I don’t see it as a challenge as much as I see it as a great opportunity and it’s about People, Product and Performance.

People – I want to continue to find the next radio talent/show and continue to develop our existing ones.

Product – I want to continue to challenge ourselves to make even better radio for our local communities and the industry.

Performance – I would like us to achieve even more growth and success than we did in 2015.

The year in review, what are you most pleased with from 2015.

I am really pleased with the diversity and talent in regional Australia, I am proud of those who are 20, 30 years in a market and are local legends because they live and breathe the community they live in, I am also proud of the newer kids on the block and new shows who have begun their radio careers. And I am really proud of the regional talent who have been acknowledge for their talent and will be going onto bigger opportunities in 2016.

Favourite song of last year

I can’t feel my face – The Weeknd
