The Music Network Chart Wrap: April 8

Hot 100

The Hot 100 sees a new #1 this week with Jarryd James’ Do You Remember finally taking the top spot up from #3. Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do remains at #2, while Taylor Swift’s Style is back up at #3 from #4. At #6 is a new peak from Major Lazer & DJ Snake with Lean On featuring MØ, which makes the jump from #11.

Years & Years’ King just manages to make the Top 20 this week landing at #20 up from #39, a new highpoint for the track and the highest Years & Years have gotten on the Hot 100 as a lead artist. Hozier’s latest single Someone New moves up to #47 from its debut point of #60. Alex Adair’s Make Me Feel Better sees movement up to #55 also up from its debut point of #76.

Only two debuts take place in the Top 50 this week with Walk The Moon’s Shut Up & Danceentering at #38 and Rihanna’s Bitch Better Have My Money debuting at #44. The rest of the debuts predominantly take place in the lower end of the Top 100 though Martin Garrix’sDon’t Look Back featuring Usher manages to just miss out of the top half entering at #51.

ARIA Singles

The ARIA Singles chart sees a new #1 as well with Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s Lean Onfeaturing MØ. It marks their first #1 on the ARIA Singles chart and comes after just four weeks in the chart. Jarryd James maintains his hold on #2 this week with Do You Remember, still unable to crack the top spot. Skrillex & Diplo’s Where Are U Now featuring Justin Bieber hits a new peak at #7 up from #13 as does Jason Derulo’s Want To Want Me at #8 from #10. A new debut at #14 comes from Rihanna’s latest single Bitch Better Have My Money, the second track to be lifted from her forthcoming eighth album. Vance Joy earns his second Top 20 in the ARIA Singles chart this week with Georgia moving to #18 from #28.

ARIA Albums

Lee Kernaghan’s Spirit Of The Anzacs maintains its hold on #1 on the ARIA Albums chart this week while managing to earn Gold accreditation. Ed Sheeran’s X returns to its home in the Top 3 again this week, moving to #2 from #5 off the back of his current Australian tour and success of his recent single Bloodstream. Hozier’s self-titled album takes a new highpoint this week up at #3 from #11 following the success of his current promo performances and tour. The first and highest debut this week comes in at #8 from The Prodigy with The Day Is My Enemy; their first album in six years continues the band’s trend of Top 10 ARIA Albums, which now extends to five in a row. The debut is followed by Van Morrison’s Duets: Re-Working The Catalogue at #10, Dance With Me by Short Stack at #12 and Nightwish’s Endless Forms Most Beautiful at #16.
