The Melbourne Cup – How you covered it

Staff Writer

It’s the race that stops the nation. Here’s how some of you covered the big one this morning On-Air.

David Strassman and Chuck Wood have been co-hosting the Wave FM HOT Breakfast in Wollongong and Chuck came up with an idea for their Melbourne Cup trifecta.

They took wooden mouse traps all numbered with the runners in the Cup. Travis being their sports fan was then blindfolded and had to walk barefoot over the traps. The first three to snap.. bang there’s their boxed trifecta.

We’re putting on a Box Trifecta for today’s Melbourne Cup. Selection of the horses was decided by trav walking through a minefield of Mousetraps. Like and Share if you want the winnings! – Cheers, Em

At HOT FM Toowoomba with Hamish & Tanya… someone got all got dressed up and then there was Tanya.

The challenge was on from 730am with the call put out to get Tanya sorted for the Melbourne Cup. The dress, the make-up and that hair.

Stav & Abby at hit105 Brisbane established that “Stopping the nation” may not be such a good thing.

The #MelbourneCup is the race that stops the nation….that isn’t necessarily a good thing…

Gold 92.5 launched Fashion in the Studio with fascinators the go and meanwhile stablemate (like that?), SEA FM was also into sorting out fashions on the field with hats the go. Gold Coast people… hmmm.

At Melbourne’s 3AW they are live all day from Flemington and this morning Ross & John found themselves a new Phantom race caller – young teen Travis Noonan calls Ross and John through the final 1000m.
