The Hit Network’s Alphabucks guaranteed $1,000,000 goes off this Thursday

This Thursday 4 November one lucky contestant will be crowned the winner of The Hit Networks guaranteed 1 million dollar Alphabucks giveaway.

This is the first time a guaranteed $1 million will be given away in Australian radio.

Tommy Little and Carrie Bickmore will be hosting the million-dollar event in their 3pm-6pm weekdays slot on the Hit Network.

More than 75,000 people registered across Australia to play SCA’s Alphabucks and only 49 national finalists remain to show down for the bulk cash.

The Hit Network began the guaranteed $1 million Alphabucks promotion in July this year.

In the contest participants are asked 10 questions they must answer in 30 seconds with the same specific letter.

Each question that is answered correctly earns the contestant $100, with the opportunity to win $10,000 if all questions are answered in the 30 second window.

Any contestants that have answered all questions correctly became national finalists with the chance to win $1 million this Thursday 4 November.

Since launching Alphabucks in 2017, The Hit Network has given away hundreds of thousands of dollars to contestants across the country.

In 2019, the Kyle and Jackie O show gave one listener the chance to win $5 million dollars by picking 1 box out of a stack of 200.

Needless to say, the $5 million prize was not won, so The Hit Networks $1 million guaranteed prize is expected to be the biggest cash giveaway in the history of Australian radio.

Not exactly the ‘first’ time. 2UE’s millionaire mania in the early 1980’s gave away a one million dollar prize.

Another Australian first?
We did this a decade ago on the same station.
