KIIS FM’s record $5 million prize fails to go off

Former Assistant Editor

It was billed as the biggest cash prize in the history of Aussie radio, but KIIS FM’s $5 Million Dollar Free Money Frenzy Giveaway fizzled out this weekend.

On Monday, listener Yvonne had a chance at $5 million by choosing the right present box on the KIIS cash wall.

It was a one in 200 chance of picking out the right package, not exactly the “easy way you can get your hands on $5 million” that KIIS was selling the competition with.

Unfortunately, box #45 didn’t contain the grand prize.

Instead, Yvonne walked away with $50,000. Not a bad day out, but a far cry from the Australian record prize.

How embarrassing for KIIS. Kyle would savage any other station that committed this blatant fraud. Is this false advertising??

Jase & PJ probably don’t know what just happened, they’re just happy to still have a job.

ARN – Absolutely ridiculous nitwits

The $1 million didn’t go off on Nova either?
This happens all the time…
Why are you singling out KIIS?

Could you imagine the first time they gave away the 1 mill they just sat in the studio? No! Kyle was down at that beach getting it done… I knew it wasn’t going to go off when they had a intern with the contestant.

@Jace the million dollar head in the sand comp you’re talking about (on the beach) Kyle was actually sitting in a studio in LA. Jackie O was the only one there.

Just cleaning up some facts here.

I believe that for a prize this much insurance would have had to be involved

Talk about a great way to alienate your listeners and destroy any enthusiasm for promotions that follow. They pushed that competition nearly hourly for months, insinuating that someone would win $5 million, and then… nothing. What a lame promo.

WILL YOU BE THE ONE TO WIN A LIFE CHANGING FIVE MILLION?

this is what kiis were spruking during the near two whole months that
this so called life changing contest was running, multiple times an hour
basically non stop during working hours or at least when I was listening

This heading and what I heard on kiis over those months led me to
believe that someone would actually ‘WIN’ this life changing five million
and not actually just ‘WIN’ a very remote chance to win the five million

Realistically a one in 200 chance to win $5mill is worth what, circa $25k,
which IMO is not the
“This is the biggest cash prize EVER offered in Australia so make sure you do whatever you have to do to win!” that kiis was calling it

What next…give away a tattslotto ticket in a jackpot draw and call that the biggest cash
prize EVER offered….sorry “idea guys” you cant use this as your next promotion

I will never listen to kiis again over this
