The Budget and an MRN first

Staff Writer

MRN is ramping up their coverage of the Federal Budget in a network first.

Business and Financial expert, Ross Greenwood will be in the thick of it in Canberra with a Budget Night special nationally on Sydney’s 2GB, Melbourne’s 3AW, Brisbane’s 4BC, Perth’s 6PR and MRN’s affiliate station FIVEaa in Adelaide.

“This is an exciting new chapter for Macquarie Radio Network as we bring our listeners the best Budget coverage and analysis in a unique first for our News Talk network. MRN has brought together the best radio talent in the country and this will be one of many firsts,” said MRN Chief Operating Officer Adam Lang.

“Ross brings 30 years’ experience as a trusted financial commentator. His ability to simply explain financially complex matters will arm our listeners with the essential Budget insights, facts and the most relevant factors for them.”

Greenwood said:“With rising debt, falling revenues and interest rate levels at record lows, this will be one of the most important budgets to be handed down in recent times. We’ll have full comprehensive analysis, including Joe Hockey’s Budget speech.”

The 2015 Budget Night with Ross Greenwood will be broadcast live from Canberra at 7.00pm, supported with podcasts and tailored station app content.

Ross Greenwood presents the Money News program on 2GB and 4BC and is also the Nine Network’s business and finance editor.

For MRN’s 2UE, Mornings presenter Stuart Bocking will present a special Budget night edition of “Your Business Day” from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.
