That’s a wrap: Calum Hood brings his debut solo sound to Nova’s Red Room

Last night, for the first time as a solo artist, Calum Hood from 5SOS brought the house down with an incredible set for Calum Hood Live in Nova’s Red Room.

The internationally renowned artist performed the intimate set at Pleasure Club in Sydney’s Newtown.

The event was hosted by Nova’s Smallzy (pictured above).

Calum – who toured the globe with 5 Seconds Of Summer for over 14 years – gave fans an exclusive insight into his new music and storytelling as a solo musician, performing tracks from his album live, two days before its official release.

He also took part in a live Q&A with host Smallzy between tracks.

Fresh from international promo tour – and with Australia being his final stop – Calum started the show by thanking fans in the room, sharing how special it was to be back in Sydney.

Calum shared with Smallzy that part of the motivation for the solo album was to better himself for 5SOS, to “hone in on who I was so I can bring that back to the band.”

The set concluded with the song Calum revealed was his favourite from the album Sunsetter, which he said pays homage to the younger artist in him and why he does what he does.
