Tamworth’s 96.3fm/88.9fm raises vital funds for NSW Cancer Council

Last Thursday saw hundreds turn out for The Biggest Morning Tea, jointly hosted by 96.3fm/88.9fm, Cancer Council NSW and the Tamworth Regional Council.

The city’s Fitzroy Plaza was blocked off, so that a range of cakes, scones, tea, coffee could be sold.

Local businesses, clubs and Regional Fire & Rescue NSW supported the morning.

The Plaza was packed for the duration of the morning’s broadcast, with entertainment provided by The Rusty Ringers.

Station CEO George Frame said “It exceeds all expectations as the station brought many of the community together in support of a great cause.”

He said it also shows how radio is pivotal bringing the community together to support these events in regional areas.
